HPHL (Spring)

The Wolverines Hockey Club participates in the High Plain Hockey League in the spring. Teams are assembled by the same boundaries as the CPHL and CHSAA seasons. Prior to 2025 Wolverines Hockey Club and Parker Knights were separate entities, we have now combined under a singular team to align better with CPHL and CHSAA.

We typically have 1 varsity team and 1 JV team. We run the high plains league as a "no-cut" season and will add additional JV or varsity team depending on registration numbers and skill levels. If we don't have enough player to form an additional team the we will release them to the league as free agents to be picked up by another club. The goal is to have a place for all registered players to play.

Ages

The High Plains league requires player to be current freshmen. 8th graders who will be freshman int he fall do not qualify for this league. Full details on these rules can be found on the HPHL league website.

When

This league runs from early March though early May. Last playoff games are typically completed by Mothers Day.

Where

Our team practice primarily out of Family Sports Center and/or South Suburban Sports Complex. This can vary as ice availability has become increasingly difficult to come by with many new players and teams competing for facility time.

Games are played all along the front range. We are in the south division thus stay fairly close to Parker and the surrounding area.

Practices

Each team will have 1 practice per week and get 5-6 practices during the season.

Games

The season is roughly 10-15 games (including playoffs). Teams will have 1 or 2 games per weekend. Games are played Friday through Sunday.

Jerseys

Jerseys are provided for use during the season and are returned to the club at the seasons conclusion.

Fees/Dues

Each team pays a league fee in order to participate in the HPHL. Beyond that player dues will include operational costs for the club to fund uniforms, referee fees, first aid supplies, banquet and awards costs and other expenses necessary to run the club.

Cost per player is calculated once we determine the number of registered player and number of teams that we are able to field. In the past dues have run ~$550 - $675 per player.
